‘Ay bruv, yeah fam, you!’ Huh? Really, you are going to talk to me like that? Yes, this is one of the many problems within the 21st century. Younger generations do not know how to talk, instead of saying ‘excuse me’ it’s now ‘ay bruv’. Do I look like your brother? I just don’t understand, the speech that is used now is appalling; I am embarrassed to count myself as part of the young generation. I always get that stereotypical view from people on the bus, or any other mode of transport. The respect towards older generations has flown out the window, and this is why we, as the younger generations, have lost respect from adults.

Don’t get me wrong, I use the occasional slang but in seriously moderate terms. The speech of the 21st century is appalling we have replaced ‘goodbye’ to ‘g2g’, I mean what does that even mean? Even mum is using the phrase ‘lol’ on Whatsapp ™. I don’t understand the shortening of words, can’t kids spell nowadays? For example I was talking to my friend the other day, and instead of writing ‘actually’ she wrote ‘acc’, how on earth did she get away with that? Although the stereotypical use for slang is used in south London, it is still used in north, east and west London for example, I met up with y friend from west London and we passed a McDonald’s restaurant and she said ‘aw man, that smells piiiff!’ What’s that? Is it like a new word for nice?

Language used in the 21st century was completely different to the language used now. Okay, so it’s now completely different but there are some major implications in speech. The use of manners have degraded since the time of Charles Darwin, I no longer hear any ‘pleases’ or ‘thank you’. Even when you go to Sainsbury’s, you may hear that sarcastic toe; ‘excuse me, you’re in my way.’ I don’t know about you but I didn’t a ‘please’. If I had to change anything in the 21st century it would be this, the use of manners. Another time, is when for example when you buy sweets, and your friend stands next to you and uses his/her pleading-doggy-eye, I mean all you have to do is say ‘please’, and I will happily give you some (well actually, I’m not that nice).
