The growing demand for 21st century technology and on-line collaboration has challenged many organizations and companies to find ways to protect their employees and reduce work related injuries, directly place them at risk of safety and health violations. Today Musculoskeletal Disorder is one of the leading injuries, reported by employees working in call centers. The purpose of this report is to deliver educational means to Love Design employees on ergonomic awareness and risk factors associated with Musculoskeletal Disorders. In order to reduce the injuries that affect employees working in this environment we must introduce programs evaluation proposals that will educate employees on ergonomic principles, proper techniques, how to recognize, self-evaluate and control their personal workstations while decreasing the number of work related injuries.

Organizational setting – Love’s Design Call Centre

The Love Design call centre began operations in 2012 through Ash University, located in Iowa, Clinton the main function of this organization, to support and disseminate vital information to clientele around the world utilizing technology as means of communications through fax, e-mails telephones, computers, and chats. The objectives for Love’s Design, is delivering educational means to its employees on ergonomics awareness and risk factors associated with Musculoskeletal Disorder and injuries directly affecting employees working in call centre while decreasing injuries. Love Designs will provide sufficient techniques that will allow information disseminate on Musculoskeletal Disorder Awareness Training, for employees, by providing in house classes on proper techniques in workstations setup, online collaborations with ergonomics support team, and tutorials that will help individuals learn how to use self-evaluations checklist. In addition, support teams working for the Human Resource Departments will provide instruction to employees on preparations of claim forms, informational documents needed for submission on worker’s compensations claims. Based on the amount of data identified, the causes and effects of Musculoskeletal Disorders associated with employees, I will use the quantitative evaluations approach. The amount of information combined with measurements and awareness of getting employees to understand the causes of MSD and decrease injuries of its employees and the role they have in helping maintaining their safety and welfare working for Loves’ Design call centre. According to The Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 582,300 MSDs that resulted in employees missing time from work in 1999, the last year for which statistics are available. Back injuries are the leading cause of disability in the United States for people younger than 45 years and have been the most expensive health care problem for the 30 to 50 year old age group. Conclusion
This evaluating proposal has a purpose to protect the employees working for Love Designs call Centre, the main area of concern is to focus on the future years to decrease the total number of employees with Musculoskeletal Disorders by presenting phases of training to the employees. The company plans to encompass the number of employees by educating them of the awareness and preventions of this disorder. The 2009 training process will be adding the ergonomic training to the procedures, staff and management models will deliver all aspect about ergonomic and the welfare and safety of its employees by redesigned areas to fit the needs of the organizations and its employees.
