Hamlet is a tragedy that consists of loss, love, and revenge. Hamlet and Laertes both want to seek revenge in this play, but they have different ways of going about it. Hamlet is a procrastinator and even has a whole scene where he contemplates taking revenge on Claudius or not, he even thinks of taking his own life to avoid all these problems going on in his life. Halfway through the soliloquy, Hamlet starts thinks about what happens after death and explains that “thus conscience does make cowards of us all.”(3.1 91) By thinking too much about taking revenge, Hamlet has become a cowards. On the other hand, Laertes is the complete opposite of Hamlet, When asked what he would do if someone killed his father, Laertes explains “To cut his throat I’ th’ church.”(4.7 144)

Laertes doesn’t even question taking revenge like Hamlet does because he just jumps into things, he says that he would even do it in a religious place like a church that’s how badly he wants Hamlet dead. In relation to the book, I too have a semi bad character trait, I have the tendency to spend my money too fast. I started my first job a few months ago and ever since then I felt more independent with my money which has created a monster. As a high school student I should be working to save money for when I go off to college, instead I will go get my nails done, get food, or go shopping, and end up spending all my money. A better balance in my life would be to start saving my money.
