New Year is the beginning of the fresh calendar, and the time to make new resolutions. A New Year’s resolution is a commitment that a person makes to one or more personal goals, projects, or reforming of a habit. A key element to a New Year’s resolution that sets it apart from other resolutions is that it is made in anticipation of the New Year and new beginnings. People committing themselves to a New Year’s resolution generally plan to do so for the whole following year. . According to Gretchen Rubi (author of best-seller “The Happiness Project”): “You hit a goal, you achieve a goal. You keep a resolution” My New Year resolution is to be more productive, organize my things, and boost my confidence. When talking about productivity there are a lot of things involved. In school I want to perform efficiently to have good grades. This New Year, a good resolution is to avoid procrastination. Why do tomorrow, what I can do today? I want to use my time wisely. And I will try to multi-task if necessary. I want to make it a goal this 2013 to finish my entire task on time and get positive feedback. It’s a great start for my 2013 resolutions.

I also want to organize my things. According to John Friedlander, “Humor me for a moment and agree that organization is really desirable, both in the process of writing and in the product of writing. The remaining problem is figuring out how to create or impose that organization”. Tidiness is a measure of one’s personality. Psychology states that an organized individual is a reliable person. It simply dictates that, to manage one’s life, one must first manage his belongings. I want to change because I want my life to progress. A good resolution this New Year is to start organizing my life. Start with my things. Make my room more presentable. In time, I will notice that my life is getting organized as well. And my last resolution is to boost my confidence. According to Admas et al, “confidence – Based Assessment And Learning is a unique methodology, in which learning the learning truly begins with the assessment process.” Enhance my social skills by developing my confidence. It is one important aspect to focus on this New Year. Believe in myself. My goal is to improve my self esteem. Gain more knowledge, it would help me to establish my stature. Have faith in my abilities.

I think it is a good foundation in establishing my future. I don’t know I will be able or not to fulfill my New Year resolution. According to a study by Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol involving 3,000 people showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail, despite the fact that 52% of the study’s participants were confident of success at the beginning. But I want to spread my new year resolution to all because according to Quoting Frank Ra (author of the new year’s resolution book “A course in happiness”) ) “Resolutions are more sustainable when shared, both in terms of with whom you share the benefits of your resolution, and with whom you share the path of maintaining your resolution. Peer-support makes a difference in success rate with new year’s resolutions”
