I would like to draw your immediate attention to the above matter. I am not satisfied with the occupant of a house in my neighbour, Mr. Daniel Chu, as he constantly practices open burning in his compound. His residence is situated at 39, Lane 3, Taman Da Hua.
2. I first spoke personally to him about the problem on 5 April 2013 but without any positive response or changes in his behavior. Although I have approached him for three times but it proves futile. It will be of great help if you can lodge a formal complaint against him. Furthermore, the open burning might be able to be stopped as fast as possible if a time frame is restricted for him.
3. He has just simply done this open burning as if he has forgotten the need to be a good neighbor. As a good neighbour, we should be considerate. Knowing that we should treat others the way we expect to be treated is the most basic quality that makes people respect to us. As such, I will be glad if he avoids doing something that is likely to disturb the peace of others.
4. Due to his irresponsible action, it contributes to some ill effects and dangers. We can start off by observing the change of climate. The light intensity and visibility will be reduced because of the formation of haze and smog. The smoke which contains some fine particulate matter will cause some disease such as respiratory tract, bronchitis and asthma. Worst still, it irritates our eyes, creating an unfavorable condition. As a result, the open burning pose health hazards to the residents.
I sincerely hope that you will look into the matter at once and instant measures to be taken as this is such an unlawful act. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and consideration. I look forward for a prompt reply.
