Strengths: The strength in CanGo comes from the drive and the motivation of bringing forth a new product is definitely there. When Nick discusses what shall come to pass the rewards are great and it sounds great giving the hopes of “we can do this” attitude. I watched the videos and notice how everyone is excited and ready to leap forward on this venture making it possible to connect people from across the globe in a gaming system like no other. The determination, motivation, and energy are definitely needed and are present among the group. Weaknesses: There are several weaknesses within the entire group starting from Management and the no so direct directions. CanGo has great ideas and new adventures to take into consideration but fail to put a plan in place to make sure they follow through. When management gives the team an assignment there are too many openings for assumption and misinterpretation of what is needed from the team player. There is no organization to show what has been done or what needs to follow and it is not clear if work is being missed or completed by more than one person.
When the assignments are given out, we found that individuals were taking on workloads that they were either not trained to do, or they did not have the resources available. There also seems to be an issue with the budget, maybe because we have yet to see one and this is sure to lead to disaster towards the end when you should be receiving the awards. This is a project where the target audience is worldwide and necessary equipment needs to be in place as well as the proper staff to be sure that it launches and go live the first time around, no room for error. Opportunities: This is not only a great opportunity for the team at CanGo in the gaming world, but it also improves the image and gives them the ground they need to expand bigger than ever. When you expand the company, you gain employees allowing fresh ideas right into the loop of growth. When you think of nationwide it’s a given to think of the lucrative openings as well. It was mentioned about being a 500% increase, which is tremendous and in return the rewards are spread amongst the team.
CanGo seems to be doing well as far as image, but this can give the nationwide attention adding additional stakeholders to the business and giving room for more opportunity explorations. Threats: There are a few threats that are of the obvious, one being if the launch is not as great as it should, competitors could pick it up and really advance it to their favor. When you do most of the foot work of making this product stand out and do poorly at introducing the product, the world will notice and lose interest quickly. When deadlines are set and not met you are putting a hold on the next step which increases the budget waiting to continue to the next step. In this particular situation, there is no set direction to know what has been completed or show should start next and this could cost the company more a lot more money in the forefront than what was intended. Any time you are introducing something new, there is always that chance of it being rejected because its unfamiliar areas. Not only is CanGo dealing with the U.S. but also the world it causes pressure to be sure that its game friendly for everyone it is intended for.
