California and Texas are two different states, but in many ways have some sorts of comparisons. In school we learn that Texas is one huge state filled with plenty of cities and can take half a day to drive out of. While in California there are plenty of cities as well, but at least half the size of Texas. Both states have many cool attractions, and very famous ones at that. When people visit these states you are guaranteed to have a fun time.

California has very fun theme parks as well as Texas; both states have a six flags, but instead of the name six flags for Texas it’s called Astro world. Both states have wonderful water parks, a popular one in Texas is named Schlitterbahn and a popular one in California is named Hurricane Harbor. Both states even have very cool historical museums, California has some great ones such as the La Brea tar pits a dinosaurs museum, and another great one is called the museum of tolerance, it is a museum that shows the history of the Jews in the concentration camps and show videos of Hitler and how he ruled at that time. Now there is one special place In California that Texas does not have, a Disneyland, the happiest place on earth doesn’t reside In Texas but another one is located in Florida. But Texas has its advantages; it has a beautiful river walk in San Antonio, which is home to the Alamo, a famous battleground. There are boats and plenty of places to eat and have plenty of fun there is so much history there, you get a tour about why San Antonio is indeed San Antonio.

Texas is also known for the State Capitol, located in Austin Texas, “The Texas Capitol is an extraordinary example of late 19th century public architecture and is widely recognized as one of the nation’s most distinguished state capitols. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986 for its “significant contribution to American history”. The state of California may not be home to the capitol and the Alamo, but is known for Hollywood, where the stars are. It is a famous attraction people bring their cameras and take pictures of the star on the ground of the famous, and if you get lucky you might even see a real celebrity. California also has many beautiful beaches in which Texas does not have. California and Texas are also home to some very great NFL teams California has three, Chargers, raiders, and the 49ers and the Texas has two great teams , the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Texans. The laws in the state of Texas are different in many ways tan n California.

In Texas you are allowed to drive around in a motorcycle with no helmet, which in the state of California it is against the law, the gun laws in Texas are quite different in California, it is legal to carry a concealed weapon around in your pocket, if you have a permit for it. Another difference is California bans smoking cigarettes in public places throughout the state, but in Texas you are allowed to smoke inside a bar. Texas is the state of friendly drivers ,The “Welcome to Texas” road signs at every entry point to the state show the Texas state flag and, below that, this slogan: “Drive Friendly—The Texas Way.” The state motto is “friendship” because the name “Texas” or “Tejas” is thought to mean “friends” or “allies.” The slogan “Drive Friendly—The Texas Way” has been on bumper stickers since at least 1972”. California and Texas do have similar laws such as their privacy laws In 2012, new statutes in California and Texas will require that providers make state-specific changes to their existing privacy compliance procedures.

The changes made in California are detailed below. Texas’s new law is addressed in “Texas (and California) Increase Privacy Requirements.” Texas and California also have beautiful weather, clear blue skies in the summer, and lots of rain during the winter and they are very similar as far as temperatures go. Texas tends to get more humid and hot than California, in California it does get very hot but it gets very cool especially near the beach areas. California is known for earthquakes and wildfires, because there is so much desert and brush that cause the fire. Texas is known for tornadoes warnings. The time zones are 2 hours apart, California runs on pacific time and Texas runs on central time. None the less both of these states are very amazing, though they have their differences and similarities; anyone will have an enjoyable time no matter what. Thanks to their huge sizes, there is plenty to do in each state. Whether they have different laws, attractions or weather, they are both beautiful states to visit or live in.
