Chemical engineering processes consist of disseverment stages in which the process streams are disunited and refined. In this disunion require physical principles predicated on differences in the properties of the ingredient in the stream. These disseverment processes include Gas-Liquid (vapor-liquid) disunion, Gas-Solid disseverment (vapor-solid), Liquid-Liquid disunion (immiscible), Liquid-Solid, and Solid-Solid disseverment etc. This disunion can be done by utilize the differences in density between the phases. Gravitational force or centrifugal force can be habituated to escalate the disunion. The disunion units can be either horizontal or vertical. Cyclone Separator:
Cyclone separators contribute a method of abstracting particulate matter present in air or other gas streams at minimum cost and less maintenance. Cyclones are scarcely more perplexed in design than simple gravity settling systems, and their abstraction efficiency is much better than that of settling chamber. Cyclones are rudimentary centrifugal separators, comprise of an upper cylindrical part referred to as the barrel and a lower conical part referred to as cone as shown in the figure below. (Figure 1). They simply transpose the inertia force of gas particle flows to a centrifugal force by designates of a vortex engendered in the cyclone body.

Working Principle:
The particle consist of air stream enters tangentially at the top of the barrel and peregrinates downward into the cone composing an outer vortex. The incrementing air velocity in the outer vortex results in a centrifugal force on the particles disuniting them from the air stream. When the air reaches the bottom of the cone, it commences to flow radially inwards and out the top as immaculate air/gas while the particulates fall into the dust amassment chamber affixed to the bottom of the cyclone.

Types of Cyclone:
On the substratum of flow there are three variants of cyclone
1) Tangential flow cyclone
2) Axial flow cyclone
3) Parallel flow cyclone
