A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. In past, hotel consisted of a room with a bed, a closet, a small table and a washstand and now it has a big room, has TV, telephone, air conditioner, and some additional features like minibars, gaming, swimming pools, gym, spas, conference hall and provide basic accommodation.
Hotels have gone through many trends over 100 years. In each decade, styles change and hotels try to stay on top creating the most up-to-date looks. Styles go in and out in the blink of an eye. Most of the Hotels provide goods and services using the computer system. It helps to perform tasks in an easy way with less time consumed.
The era of new technology gave rise to easy and hassle-free interaction between humans. Whether it is in business, science or whatever task a person takes on the quality and speed of carrying it out are enhanced with automation at the core of this efficient.
The reason for this proposal is to help the employee and provide the assistance their needs for the customer as soon as possible, because today, most of the hotels provide goods and services using the computer system. It helps to perform tasks in an easy way with less time consumed. Some companies are becoming fully automated while others strive for the similar setting.
Today, many systems are using an automation process like using a computer system, due to the efficient and accurate. “Hotel Reservation System” is a transaction processing system. In this system, there are more advantages rather than using the traditional usage of the pen and the paper.

Background of the Study

The researchers want to know the reasons for a hotel in using manual reservation. The researchers conduct a study towards the topic because they notice some of the hotels still use manual reservation.
Manual management and organizing methods such as the traditional pen and paper approach are still utilized in a large number of hospitality settings around the world. The reason is quite simple actually – they require little investment. In fact, that the costly trade-offs that accompany such methods appear insignificant in the short run. But humans make mistakes, and there’s no way to get around that.
This is the reasons why the researchers conduct this study to minimize the errors of the manual reservation and to find out how to increase the number of customers using computerized reservation.
The usefulness of the computers has greatly increased in recent years. As these devices are designed to enable users to perform more tasks. With the transition to an information-based society, computers and transactions have evolved from the manual transaction.
One of the solutions or alternatives to the problems that a hotel is facing, a system was being developed which can edit, delete, filter, monitor, and store and secured the records of the customers.
Hotel Reservation system is a transaction processing system that solves the problem encountered during the manual Hotel Reservation. The computerized Hotel Reservation System aims to simplify the manual Hotel Reservation fast and accurate.

The Hotel currently runs a manual booking system and therefore requires customers to the only book for rooms or any other service by walking to the receptionist or calling them on the phone or using a third party option. Any inquiry to be made demanding feedback must usually be forwarded to the hotel in person. Sometimes management is given false reports concerning the workflow of the hotel and employees also give falsified pricing information to customers from time to time.
From an employee’s account, details of customers are hardly used in the workflow and that also, records are not properly kept; books used to keep records are disposed of when they get filled up.

To increase the security of the management and staff.
To lessen time consume.
To highly integrate data.
To spend less time in searching and retrieving of files.
To create a backup of files in every successful transaction.
To become make easier to find the availability rooms.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study is conducted to know the reason behind the proponents on how will their purposed systems will help the Hotel Management. Hotel Reservation System is fully scalable and designed to provide extensive flexibility and varied choices. Typical hotel reservation and e-commerce hotel system software reservation solutions currently in place and available today are technically designed to achieve only one objective function, which is to connect buyer to seller.

SCOPE

This study mainly focused on providing retailing business application using a computerized system that enables businesses to track services and aims to provide accurate and reliable process on every transaction especially in a hotel reservation. This study looked into a better impact of using technology today on how it affects our daily lives especially for being the customer. With this studies it can help our beneficiaries to know the differences between using the manual system to a computerized generation today, prioritize is to prove and to give them the right information.
