Information Requirements

I will need different types of information about this product such as what phone model it is, Colour, Details (If it has Bluetooth and internet) and price. I shall also need to find different specification etc – Colour. I will use primary and secondary research. I will ask the general public and look at other shops and the internet. I am doing this because I want to see what other people charge and what other people think is fair and is the right price.

Software to be used

There are two software’s I could use to make the systems are;

* Database – I could use this software as it will be able to save all my data so it will be very useful for this project. The data I shall have if things such as the customers details, Phone details and also a Data File. This should be able to organize my collection of Data. I could also make things likes fields and records. The key field contains an item of data that is unique to that record so no records have the same value in the key field. Also with databases you can search them quickly to specific data so this saves a lot of time. I can use to different types on database and relational databases which would be very good for my system. I can also include sorts, queries and reports so this gives me a various amount of options.

* Spreadsheet – Spreadsheets can be used in many ways. They can be used to record data, search for particular items of data, perform calculations based on data and be bale to produce graphs and charts. I can also use different types of different paper to fit my spreadsheets or graphs such as A1, A2, and A3. I can also improve it by changing its font type, font colour, font size, and also lots of different types of formatting such as italics, bold, and underlined. Using Spreadsheets I can also use formulas. This will save me time as it is just like a calculator and is linked to different cells so if one cell changes the main cell will also change.

Just an appropriate system

The software I shall be using to complete these tasks shall be Microsoft Excel.

I am using Microsoft Excel because;

* Ease of data storage and editing – I shall need to save quite a lot of data to the computer e.g. (customers details)

* Spreadsheets function – I will need an Spreadsheet to record details of the customers and for the project to show the company e.g. (Extras page)

* Use Formulas – This is for finding out the total costs of things for the model of the phone. Plus the extras page.

This is great for my project as I will need to access all these software’s for my project to be completed.

* What the system needs to do – Microsoft Excel allows you to get all the needs of what a system needs to do because it has all the things you need. Such as it has the apparatus to make this by using Macros, Data Validation, and VLOOKUP.

* What you hope to achieve – Microsoft Excel will allow me to achieve all my targets as this as all the stuff I need to achieve all the things. I want to achieve the system to make it easy and I can do that by using easy instructions so the customers can gradually get through my pages. I will make my east instructions by using comment boxes + input + output messages.

* What the solution needs to be like – Microsoft Excel will allow me to complete the solution to what it needs to be like because I have all the things to make it such as Macro’s, List boxed, combo boxes, Option buttons, Sliders, Scroll bars, Indexes, Check boxes, and Pivot tables.

* List user requirements – Microsoft will allow me to meet the user requirements because I can use Comment boxes + Input and output message and error alerts.

* Mention any automated functions which will be needed – Microsoft Excel would allow me to make the Time & Date automated by typing in a formula then formatting the cells.

* State what will make a good solution – Microsoft Excel will allow me to complete the solution to what it needs to be like because I have all the things to make it such as Macro’s, List boxed, combo boxes, Option buttons, Sliders, Scroll bars, Indexes, Check boxes, and Pivot tables.

* What features your solution have – Microsoft Excel will allow me uses the things I need to do such as; Macro’s, input messages, output messages, error alerts, hyperlinks, VLOOKUP, Data Validation.

* What must be included – Microsoft Excel this will allow me to include most things such as; Macro’s, input messages, output messages and different types of forms.

* What it must look like – Microsoft excel will help me make the system look presentable as it has a variety of colours I can choose from. Also it has good fonts such as; Arial or times new roman. Microsoft excel also allows me to use clipart if needed.

* What it must do formulae and functions you will need to use to make outputs and calculations happen –

* Will a user guide be needed – Microsoft Excel would let me create a user guide by using a fresh new tab on the system then I could write all the information on that page.

This process will let me link each option but to a reference then it will appear in the box. I am doing this so that when the customer wants to pick a phone which he/she wants to buy he/she will no what reference and type of phone it is.

This process is linked to the white box opposite each list box. This will let me use preferences so it can change the amount in the white box. I am using list boxes as this will benefit the customer in many ways as all he/she will have to do is click on the box they wants to use.

This process allowed me to either go up or down on what type of number I wanted to use and this is linked to the white box. I am using this so the customer can pick what type of delivery it needs to use.

Reusability

I would say the part of the system which will need changing in the near future or need updating will be the prices of the phones. I say this because the inflation prices will rise so I will have to raise the price of my phones. Next week the system will undergo a backup update. I am doing this to ensure that all my files are still their and that my system is running perfectly well. New data will be added into the system by me typing in the information of the company including and updates. I will edit formulae and functions if needed by just changing the cells they are linked to. I shall not be using a user guide. I shall not be using one because I have used things such as Data Validation which will tell the user what to do such as ” click on the drop down arrow and pick your staff” I have also included error alerts and comment boxes which people can also read to find out what to do.
