Spiritual Perspective on healing Faith is the substance of things hope for, the evidences of things not seen .In the Holy Bible of Hebrew 11:1. For many, faith is believing in a religion or practicing a religion. It is very vital in today world of practice that healthcare workers become educated about the patients under their care religious practices because as our faces are different, so is our religious practices. Healthcare worker interact with patients of different faith/ethnic and cultural background. This write up will include spiritual perspective /critical component of healing among the Islamic, Buddhism and Hindus faith. When a healthcare provider is showing respect, becoming educated on different faith /religion practice, it will help the provider in giving quality and good holistic care. Buddhism

Buddhist is a religious practices from the Asian philosophy. Buddhism is a practice/spiritual development that lead to the insight of true nature of reality. (The Buddhist Center, 2013). Buddhist, has both the percept practice and meditation practice (Bhikshu, n.d.). The Buddhism practice, has five precepts undertaking in the rule of training, that is, refrain from any act of killing, from taking that which is not given to you, from lying or using false/harmful speech and also refrain from the use or consumption of intoxicating drugs/drink which cloud the mind. (Harvey, 2006). Every person/individual has the right/freedom to make his/her own decision. A healthcare provider should always ask Buddhist patient if they are vegetarian/vegan. Buddhist do not have problem taking any medication related to their care and also being involve in their care. Hinduism The Hindus faith/religious practice, is the oldest living faith in practice and the third largest religion in practice.

There are many diversity in the practice /belief in Hindus, with diverse sects. (Hinduism Today, 2013). Hindus patients may show acceptance of difficult circumstances and decline with instruction with their healthcare due to their belief of Karma and reincarnation. (Queensland Health, 2011). The Hindus belief in astrology meaning they also have the belief that illness can be of supernatural causes. Oral care, bathing and cleanliness, are very vital in the Hindus practice and care. They also have times of prayers/meditation. Beef is prohibited in Hindus faith because most of them are vegetarian, but fasting is very important and common. In the Hindus religion, when it comes to illness, they do not take pills in capsules form. Most of them take medical decision as a family, with respect given to the elders. Most believe in Ayurvedic medicine, which are homemade and spiritual medicine. Upon admission, the healthcare worker should ask the patient on his/her preference in term of medication. The Hindus patient prefer same sex healthcare provider. Islamic

In the Islamic religious/faith practice, they belief Allah (God) Himself, is the source of all healing. In the Holy Quran, it is written, when I fall ill, so it is He will heals me. (Al-Quran 26:80). In the Islamic faith practice, they adhere to seven belief practices, that is, belief in God, angels, prophet messengers, books, fate, and life after death and in the last days. In the Islamic faith, they worship five times a day. The Islam religious /faith practice, is a way of life unlike the Hindus/Buddhist. (Gulam, 2003). Islamic patients prefer same sex healthcare provider. Islamic individuals, preferable ware clothing that are not revealing. Touching unnecessarily of opposite sex of non-related individuals, should be avoided. (Gulam, 2003). The healthcare provider should always use the right hand in any form of care because the left hand is consider as unclean.

Have knowledge of their praying time and try not to disturb. Fridays should be remember all the time because it is consider the holy day. Patient faith practice /Caregiver with different faith practice. When a healthcare provider is providing care to individuals with a different spiritual belief practice, which differ from her own, it will be very important for the health care provider to put into consideration their belief /preferences, It is important to respect their belief/ preferences, choices of request as best as possible. For the Islamic patients, turn bed to a particular direction of mecca. For the Buddhist, remove crucifix from the walls if any .This are all ways that healthcare providers can give a total holistic care. This gesture will be highly appreciated and the patients may come back to say thanks. Since the healthcare provider can respect his/her patient religious practices, it shows the healthcare provider is compassionate, flexible and respectful. Doherty, W.J. (2009) Patients just want to have good treatment, discharge and go home in a healthier condition than the way they were admitted.

In the Holy Bible, Jesus talk of healing /medicine, the story of the Good Samaritan, talking about the restoration of health /healing of the physical wound and the body. Lk 10:30-37, then Jesus reply and said, A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho , and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead, and a priest happen to be passing bye , and saw him , he passed bye on the other side of the road. When a Levite saw him, he did pass bye but behold, when a Good Samaritan came bye, he stopped his trip, had empathy/compassion, walked towards the wounded man, wrapper his wound, and pour oil /wine to the wounds and took him to safety and took care of him. So Jesus has sent the healthcare providers to be like the Good Samaritan.

The spiritual perspective of healing is a self is a self –growth tool that makes one to expand the awareness of oneself as a spiritual being. Spiritual healing is made available to everyone if the can only believe regardless of their religious practice. Barrett, M, J (2009). Spiritual perspective of healing is grounded in the truth that is essential to self. It acknowledges the fact that one is a soul , that has spark light and has come out of a God to experience reality. The philosophy of all these spiritual diversity in healing, is that all the three religion discussed above, all believe in some form of power for their healing if someone is sick. Christian .Doherty, W, J (2009).

The Buddhist belief in herb, while Christians belief in prayers. My personal perspective on spiritual diversity is that, each and every one faith and religious practice should be respected. As healthcare providers who are Christian, we can use faith and medication to heal. Christian can incorporate doctors, prayers, and modern medicine. God has given the healthcare providers the ability to learn, gain access to science, acquire knowledge, and use it in healing of the sick. Jesus want of the healthcare provider to do greater things because He has given us the power, and to do to each other as what He did while on earth.

Conclusion
I learn how religion is of great importance to some patients, healthcare providers need to ask questions to know the patient preferences so they will not be offended. Is the healthcare provider responsibility to provide the best holistic care to the patient, to enable them health emotionally, spiritually and physically. Having the knowledge of three religion, I stand at a better chance to help in a healing hospital more successfully. I have learn that educating myself , and having knowledge about my patient faith ,belied and cultural practice, is very important in their care. What I will apply in caring to my patients, is to respect their faith practice. Gale, J. (2009).
