Introduction of TOPIC

The topic for my multi genre research project is gun rights. More importantly, my question is; Are American citizens justified to own and use firearms? The answer to my question is yes, we are indeed justified to own and use firearms under the rights of the constitution. For you to know how to answer my question as un biased as possible you need to know what the second amendment states. “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” That means that we are justified to own and use firearms for th

sticker, a statistical chart, a fairy tale, an advertisement, and I chose lyrics from the song Guns by Justin Moore. My bumper sticker has a short and simple phrase laid over a background but it is not too flashy. A bumper sticker is also an easy way to spread my opinion. I made a statistical chart to prove my opinion and show facts. I wrote a fairy tale because I thought it would be fun to turn this problem and my question in to a story. My advertisement is used to convince others of my opinion and that it is the right thing to support. I chose song lyrics to show others that I am not the only one that is in support of the second amendment.

With my research from databases, the internet, and books I have come to the conclusion that our guns are trying to be taken because everyone is focused on the negatives. They only see that guns are involved in crimes and killings. But they need to also see that guns is what keeps the nation in line and chaos free. (309)

Guns, Grenades and Gas

It was a bloody day. Guns, grenades, gas. I lay inside this small hole. Praying for a miracle. Please save me. My friends dead or have been taken prisoner. It was a war zone. In the morning, immediately there were gunshots. One man died instantly. He had a wife and two kids. It was a total disaster. All we could do was follow orders, orders that cost thousands of lives. We could have just stayed and fired on the flanks but we were desperate, we knew that not all of us were going to make it alive. We had five minutes to prepare. It was the tensest five minutes of my life; I'll never forget what happened after it. The General was about to order us to march across open fire. All of us knew what was going to happen. Machine guns everywhere, there's only one outcome and that's death....

Gun Violence in the United States: Market...

Abstract:        It seems that the issue of violence and gun control both in Canada and the United States will remain for long and not fade away easily. Guided by history itself, the arguments both in favor and against will be almost the same as it has been. While in case of Canada the law is mainly federal, the main part of the firearms regulation for USA is at the state level. This issue of gun politics mainly being at the state level in US results from the fact that most North Americans are not supportive of strict gun control as a viable option for control of urban violence. These people often believe that a professional criminal with a gun might make the lives of the ordinary people troublesome because many such people might not be able to adequately defend themselves against the dangers of the urban lifestyle. The Role of Machine Guns in the...

The Battle of the Somme has again shown the decisive value of machine guns in defence. If they can be kept in a serviceable condition until the enemy's infantry attack, and are then brought up into the firing position in time, every attack must fail. - From HQ 6th Bavarian Division, 3 September 1916 It was the fire of German machine guns which was most trying for our men. Again and again soldiers have told me today that the hard time came when these bullets began to play upon them.  - Philip Gibbs, 1917              (Quoted in Bruce 1997) One of the most significant weapon advancements which differentiated World War I from previous armed conflicts was the machine gun. Emerging from the technological advances at the height of the Industrial Revolution, the machine gun quickly gained a reputation for the devastation it could inflict. Machine guns became the most effective weapons...
