Love Addiction

In a world where everybody is waiting for some blind, random disaster or some sudden disease, the addict has the comfort of knowing what will most likely wait for them down the road. They’ve taken some control over their ultimate fate, and their addiction keeps the cause of their death from being a total surprise. Love addiction is a human behavior in which people become addicted to the feeling of being in love. Just like any other type of addicts, love addicts can take on many different behaviors. Love addiction is more common than most people think. Most love addicts do not realize they are addicted to love. Love addicts are addicted to having someone take over their entire being. They want to have all of who they are absorbed in the life, and body of someone else.

Without this they feel as if their world is dark. In William Shakespeare sonnet 73 says “In me thou see’st the glowing of such fire, that on the ashes of his youth doth lie, as the death-bed whereon it must expire, as on consum’d with that which it was nourish’d by. This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong, to love that well which thou must leave ere long.” These few lines mean that he is determined to make his mistress fall in love with him as he has for her. In the article “Addicted to Love? It’s Your Brain” by Ki Mae Heussner, Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist states that “You just crave this person. You’re willing to do crazy things, stupid things.” A lovelorn person obsesses, carves and distorts reality.
