Motivation Letter for Computer System Engineering

My name is and would like to apply as a graduate student for the Master Degree at Politecnico di Milano University with a merit based scholarship. I have completed my degree Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka, Bangladesh in July, 2005. I am specialized in the sector of computer interface, software development and awarded by national & international universities for various projects. I had achieved 1st national and 2nd international prize for developing a voice recognition robot named “An Intelligent Bangla Manob”. During my Study in university I had developed different hardware and software projects. Highlighted are enclosed with this letter. At first, I had participated in a software competition in February, 2004 at Stamford University, Bangladesh. My represented projects were “Online device controller”, “Digital display board” and “Automatic Day-Night Indicator & Security System” in that competition.

Those projects were appraised by some leading professors of Bangladesh. In March 2004, I took a part in a national competition named “North South 5th Soft fair” where I had achieved 1st prize for developing a robot named “An Intelligent Bangla Manob”. This competition was organized by North South University, Bangladesh, where 7 private and 4 public universities had participated from Bangladesh. Also, In this fair I had shown 2 other interface projects those were “Voice controlled electrical device”, and “Computer controlled auto car”. In the year 2005, I had participated in an international competition held in Pakistan. This International competition was organized by The National University of Computer and Emerging Science of Pakistan and it was the 1st All Asia and 10th All Pakistan software competition and exhibition named “SOFTEC 2005”. 45 universities from different countries had participated in this competition and I had achieved 2nd prize for developing the robot named “An intelligent Bangla Manob II”. That was my joint project with another student of my University.

My achievements have published in several Bangladeshi daily newspapers i.e. “The Independent”, “The Daily star”, “and The Prothom-Alo”, “The Ittefaq”. Also several TV channels,” BTV (Bangladesh Television)” and “ATN” already had broadcasted my robotic project “An intelligent Bangla Manob”.

I have developed more than 15 interface projects and related software during my university study time and written more then 40 articles in two Bangladeshi journals named “Computer Jagat” and “C News” regarding voice and colour recognize software, electrical device controller’s hardware design etc. Page 2 of 2

However, from my work and experience in the sector of computer interfacing and robotics, I came to recognized that my knowledge is still limited in many areas. Since my country Bangladesh, has not gone as such a great step in theses sectors, it has been my dream to contribute for the development of this technology in the country. In this regards, I set my mind to choose my future career as a teacher to spread out my knowledge to the students. I also realised that before enlighten the students I have to strengthen my own knowledge. Also I am developing some future project based on computer interface, Artificial Intelligence, Image recognition and Data management system (my future projects are enclosed with this letter) that matched with the courses of the program “Computing System Engineering” at “Politechnico Di Milano”. Thus, I would like to enrol in the program, “Master of Science in Computing System Engineering” at “Politecnico Di Milano”.I believe your top-level program will provide me a deep understanding in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Image recognition and Data management system, Industrial automation and Robot control, Which I am particularly interested in. In Addition, have been taught by the world class professors who made a name for themselves among the most influential professors in Europe, I will surely get a deep and solid knowledge of on how to teach students as I have choose my future career as teacher.

I believe that if someone set a clear goal and works hard, he/she could envision their future and direct the path of their life to success. It is inevitable that one will encounter obstacles in lifetime, no matter the path and goal, yet obstacles are merely the tests of strength and belief in oneself. The same theme is inside me.

Considering upon my achievements and qualification, I hope that I will be accepted as an applicant of the program “Master of Science in Computing System Engineering” and a beneficiary of the Scholarship in the 2008-2009 academic years. I understand that admission at “Politechnico Di Milano” with the beneficiary of scholarship is competitive, but I am also confident that I am qualified and eager, and prepared to meet all of its challenges.
