Compliance system training is a target project focused on training all managers throughout the company a new system to make the company more sustainable and profitable. Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF) is a system designed to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) released into the air from diesel engines. This requires the correct mixture of DEF and diesel fuel for proper emissions control. Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a product that is produced to an international standard; it is produced to meet the 2010 EPA Diesel Emission Standards. Engine manufactures employed Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for an after treatment technology together with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). Managers will be given a minimal of ten hours of training of the new system, also the introduction of new compliances. Training for this system project is set to be conducted at the company’s service center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Travel accommodations will be set for every personnel necessary for the training. Knowing Huffman Trucking stays operational, it may be difficult for some to attend. However, it is mandatory that training is received and recorded for knowledgeable recognition of this system. Russell Smith and Brenntag are the potential stakeholders at this present time of the project, however, that may be subject to change once the system is fully implemented. The overall objective of and outcome for this project is to become in compliance with The Environmental Protection Agency, having a complete fleet of transportation equipment with Diesel Exhaust Fluids.
Transforming to a DEF operation will eventually reduce cost on engine maintenance and better performance, creating a profit for Huffman Trucking Company. Success will be evaluated on how well those who are trained can maintain their fleet; keeping accurate documentation on performance levels throughout travel from day to day logistics. Diagnostic readings of a Cab Monitoring Device (CMD), will give information on cab and driver performance to determine if company goal is reachable. As project manager, I will achieve a performance target. I will have an agreed upon measurable organizational value among stakeholders as we further learn the system for implementation. At the end of this project, I will verify the measurable organizational value to fine the success of this project.
