Introduction of TOPIC

Self Confidence is the key to success, or we can say the first step to success. If a person has self confidence, he has won half the battle. Those people who have self confidence at work, school, and in their daily life always appear on top of world. Everything seems to go right for these people and they always seem to present themselves as calm, collected and successful in everything they do. This confidence ultimately creates opportunities for success and with each new success, another self confidence building block is put into place. Success builds self confidence with each new achievement. Self confident people perceive themselves as able to achieve those things they set out to do and this perception creates reality in their lives. Make a list of your strong points.

Note down all the positive things about yourself and the things that you are good at doing. Think of compliments you have received or things that come easily to you. Look at yourself in a different way than you are used to doing. It can change your life and help your confidence level to rise. See yourself as the self confident person you want to be and before you know it you will become that person. If you have a setback, do not let it get the best of you. Remember the times when you exhibited self confidence and how good it felt and then try again and each time will help you to build confidence and confidence building will become a way of life. Success will automatically enter your life once you start believing in yourself.

According to Brown (2004) self confidence is defined as one's ability to rely on themselves, to assert oneself socially, regarding what one thinks and possessing the skills to work independently, based on one's learning from personal experience and the ability to make use of prior knowledge. Self confidence measures include self efficacy, self esteem, knowledge and ability to work out problem situations and make informed and successful decisions, without relying on other individuals. Scaling method for measuring Personal Self-Confidence will entail a survey consisting of 4 questions. Each question will aim at identifying the participant's own knowledge of how confident s/he is and the degree of confidence they have on their knowledge and their comfort level with the preferred style of working independently, as a self confident person. Select and list five items used to sample the domain. The Survey: I am comfortable in developing a strategy...

The Bet Personality

A good word to describe the banker is arrogance, which fades away to some extent at the end of the story. In the beginning he was so determined to prove the lawyer wrong and was even willing to pay him two million dollars in order to talk him into a bet. The reasoning behind the banker’s actions was only to have the satisfaction of being right. In the text it states, “The banker, spoiled and frivolous, with millions beyond his reckoning, was delighted at the bet” (Chekhov 968). This only shows his arrogance and his confidence towards the bet. At the end of the story his personality changes to some extent. Some of his arrogance faded away since he is no longer as economically stable as he was fifteen years ago. The article states, “Fifteen years before, his millions have been beyond his reckoning. Desperate gambling on the stock exchange,...

Comparing and Contrasting Odysseus and Percy Jackson

Why are not all humans exactly the same? What separates humans apart from each other, aside from their external appearance? Each individual human being is unique and extraordinary, due to the different characteristics they possess. Granting the fact that humans having similar qualities is a frequent occurrence, no two individuals attain identical personalities. Comparing and contrasting the characteristics of Odysseus, the main character in The Odyssey, an Epic Poem taking place in ancient Greek culture, and Percy Jackson, the main character in the novel The Lightning Thief, likenesses and differences within their character traits are easily able to be recognized. Although Odysseus and Percy both exhibited loyalty and bravery, the characteristic of confidence was not equally shared between them. Odysseus and Percy had a lot in common, especially a strong, passionate love towards their families to whom they treated with utmost loyalty. The two characters were both separated from their...
