Physical health: Physical health is defined as is the condition of your body. The characteristics of physical health can include a few things but being at a good weight that is proportionate to their height is a good characteristic. Good physical health is when your body is functioning as it was designed to function. Working out and dieting is a part of being physically healthy. Social health: The characteristics of social health are just physically being able to communicate with others and have some type of relationship such as a friendship or acquaintance. Social health is how you get along with other people, how other people react to you, and how you interact with society. I believe social health is important because it can also help you in your career and to live independently in throughout your adult life. I try to get out at least a 2 to 3 times a week to go out and meet people and have a good time. I feel like having friends and spending some time with are good for people like me who work full time and attend school.
Intellectual health: The characteristics of intellectual health stand out to me as someone who just has a bit of common sense about things. Intellectual health is not just academic knowledge. It also includes common sense, creativity and general knowledge. To be intellectually healthy, involves you in activities that increase knowledge, moral reasoning and mental agility. Environmental health is your external environment and the roles individuals play in a person life. Your environment can range from where you work, to where you sleep at night and sometimes even the people in your life. Growing up I did not have the right role models in my life and I feel like it does follow people through their adult life and can even create issues if it the problem is not handles correctly.
Emotional health: Emotional Health is the ability to express emotions when they are appropriate. An emotionally healthy person has a relaxed body, an open mind and an open heart. The more emotional health you possess, the more self esteem you have. This means you do not frequently react with knee jerk responses, anxiety or panic to the events that occur in your life. I feel like I am emotionally healthy because I do not how to express my feelings in a positive way.
Spiritual health: Spiritual health is the way you find meaning, hope, comfort and inner peace in your life. Many people find spirituality through religion. Some find it through music, art or a connection with nature. Others find it in their values and principles. When you have a belief it gives you the feeling of unity and puts some value into your life. I feel like my spirituality has helped me gain my morals at a young age that I still believe in.
