Introduction of TOPIC

The Taliban is a religious group formed in Afghanistan in 1994 consumed of mostly Pashtuns from Afghanistan who took control of the Afghanistan government in 1996 and ruled them until the attack of September 11, 2001 . “The Taliban’s promise – in Pashtun areas straddling Pakistan and Afghanistan – was to restore peace and security and enforce their own austere version of Sharia, or Islamic law, once in power (BBC News).” Members of the Taliban help out al-Qaeda, they are dangerous, and they give strict orders to other countries besides their own.

“The group Taliban is known for having provided safe haven to al-Qaeda and its erstwhile leader Osama bin Laden” (Bajoria) to protect him from invaders, the Taliban has not been very active for the past few years but is planning on making a debut on rising back up into the world again soon. “This year, the Taliban’s annual declaration of increased violence–coinciding with the break from harsh winter weather–is widely considered an especially crucial test for President Hamid Karzai’s government as it prepares to assume control of the nation’s security from coalition forces.” (Mott) With the planning’s of attacks from the Taliban, surrounding countries should be aware how powerful and dangerous that they have been in the past, that they will most likely come out stronger than before.

In the past, the Taliban has been very dangerous to other countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, the United States, the continent of Africa,

and all around the Middle East and Asia. Most of the attacks were bombings; either suicide or drone

bombing. Suicide bombings are some of the most dangerous ways to harm others both for the enemy and the opposing side. You hurt the enemy, but you also lose at least one of your men that are fighting within the Taliban. “The Afghan people should not fear Taliban threats,” the statement said. “The Afghan National Security Forces have wisely used the winter months to prepare for taking over the security lead throughout Afghanistan by mid-2013. They are ready.” (Zucchino)

The Taliban is also a group to give strict orders, “Taliban rule was characterized by a strict form of Islamic law, requiring women to wear head-to-toe veils, banning television, and jailing men whose beards were deemed too short.” (Bajoria) They still keep up with it, and reflect upon appalling consequences. People not following these rules can obtain horrible circumstances such as; stoning, shootings, shunned, ignored, and in worse case scenarios, death. The Taliban has banned the usage of televisions in some houses in Afghanistan due to what they show the public. The Taliban is one of the reasons why women in the Middle East wear turbans and other head coverings as well as full body coverings.

The Taliban are very dangerous and have harmed many in the past. They can be a dangerous group if they know who they are dealing with, so countries should know what they are getting themselves into if they decide that they are going to mess with the Taliban.

Members of the Taliban help out al-Qaeda on planning some of their attacks as well as helping them solve their problems within their world. The Taliban are very dangerous and have harmed many in the past. They also give strict orders to other countries besides their own.
