They deliver “the goods.” Web site helps people find educationally worthwhile information with a minimum of wasted time and wandering. That is why the University of Makati-College of Computer Science should develop its own website. What motives you to do this research project?

The researchers are driven by the college’s vision that commits itself in the development, utilization and the application of Information Technology and that there is a need of a website dedicated for the college.

An online information system is a set of information resources organized for the collection, processing, maintenance, transmission, and dissemination of information, in accordance with defined procedures, whether automated or manual.

The University of Makati-College of computer science despite being an institution related to Information Technology does not have its own website (online information system) that will cater the need of information. The college disseminates its announcement via word of mouth thereby causing unawareness among members of the institution. Information on its faculty and staffs are unavailable. The college is also deprived of a potent promotional tool of the college’s services and facilities.

That is the reason why there is a need to develop the University of Makati-College of Computer Science online information system that’ll contain Instantaneous updates and changes within the college, a gallery of the members of the faculty and a feature that’ll initiate student feedbacks via its forum.

The study is limited to The University of Makati- College of Computer Science Online Information System. The proposed University of Makati-College of Computer Science Online Information System will provide instantaneous updates and announcements. Since the proposed project is based online this will require internet connectivity and will be available at any time. This will also provide feedbacks on queries via its forum making it a tool for positive interaction within the college.

The researchers will use HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript programming languages for the development of the system. Adobe Photoshop CS5 will be used in enhancing interface design. For the database of the system, the researchers will use the MySQL.
