The are lots of duties and responsibilities of human resource department like make sure that the right person is doing the right job. One thing human resource do is interview people they do the contract of employment, so if he walks out on the firm without some may weeks notices, they don’t get paid if they, do they sort out salaries and bonuses for workers they make sure, that the act 1974 of health and, safety is right human resources can, discipline and dismiss worker only if they have a reason and if the law looks at why they got sack. They organise replacement workers if the full time worker is ill for a long-time and make sure, that they get paid.

Firms get human resource to recruit workers what most business do is you go there and get a application form fill that in then go back for a interview this is what hammer and tongs do.

A plan to show how human resources recruitment process.

My task was to explain what retention means. And explain why this is important to hammer and tongs.

Means when a company wants to keep their staff instead of replacing staff, or the other way around. Some company has a high turnover of staff because they need new blood. There are some benefits and cost of a high turnover of staff.

New blood

New ideas and opinions

Expensive training

Expensive adverting

Interview cost time and money

Why is this important to hammer and tong

Retention could help any company by bring new workers in may they might be better than the old ones by new blood which all companies need new ideas could help the company allot.

Methods on how to keep Sonia Harris

Sonia Harris in the marketing department has been with us for three years. She has been offered a job with a different firm, which pays slightly better then hammer and tongs.

There are some methods here which might help us keep Sonia Harris be able to keep here are the monetary ways of keeping her we could try to give her less hours to work or more what ever she wants. We could pay her by the hour. Give her a share of the profit. Bonus including pay raise. Make her work the rate she wants to work. Or there are some non-monetary ways of keeping her job rotation so she does get bored. More tasks. She does the same work but less time. Giving her more responsibility.

Dismissal means when the company sacks an employer there could be lots of reason why they could sack the worker e.g. drunkenness, late every day these are some of many reason why the company might sack the worker. To dismiss a work the company needs a written statement to say why they sack the worker. But they must find, out why the worker, keeps being late because, if they cant get to work very easy e.g. cars in the garage, if the company sacked, him he could take the company to court he,can get can get money back.

Reason of dismissal

The common reason for dismissal are being unable to do the job being frequently late for work or absent fighting and swearing or being drunk on the job stealing from worker or the business doing private work that is competing with the company .

These are the stages a worker has to go through before being sacked

First, an formal discussion with the employee

Second, a formal verbal warning

Third, a formal written warning

Forth, a final written warning

Last, notice of dismissal to say he/she is sacked.

Why is it important to hammer and tongs?

If you have an employee which is not very good at his job you might aswell sack him if you do this you can employ a better work may for less pay, at hammer and tongs LTD is boring work so you need a work with good motivation discipline good ideas and a work which does give up on the job.

Albert Finney has been late for work several times. He has been given several warnings and the production department wants to sack him.

To: production

From: human resources

Date: 30/10/02

Subject: dismissal

We are very sorry but you can’t sack Mr. Finney but you can if you give him a informal discussion with the employ which has to be record then a formal verbal warning which has to be written down. Then a formal written warning then a final written warning. Notice of dismissal which is send to him by post and then you can sack him you have to go through all these stage to sack him we will be timing a eye on him.

What is training?

Training means acquiring knowledge and skills which can be used in a particular job. These days it is assumed that people will change their job several times in a lifetime, often switching to completely different types of work. This may require them retraining at several points in their working lives.

Why is this important to hammer and tongs ltd?

Training is good for a worker it gives the worker chance to improve his/her quality of work good work means more things are made. Training is good for hammer and tongs LTD because they make more profit if the workers they were fast at working only if they sell them ofcourse.

Types of training which a business can benefit from?

Initial training for new employees and there is an induction programmer. Update for workers how all ready work there. And there are more multi-skills training in house training courses you can train at home. If a business has regular training for their workers they can improve this will help the business a lot because the best workers you have the better the better chance of madding a profit because you can made more better things but training your workers cost the business money.

Why do we train?

Training is very important you need training to do you job. We train so we can get better at the job because there’s always areas to improve there’s no-one who is the best at the job and can’t improve. If you train you find new ways of doing the job so your fast at the job so therefore you get more things done more things done is very improve to the business in could mean more profit for the company. in most business you need to train now and again because the business wants the most out of you.
