Claus Von Stauffenberg was a German army officer and Roman Catholic aristocrat who was one of the leading officers of the failed 20 July plot of 1944 to kill German dictator Adolf Hitler and remove the Nazi Party from power in World War II Germany by making operation Valkyre. He was one of the central figures of the German Resistance movement. He became so important, that people decided to make movies about him, but many of the things that appear in movies, are not really true. So, this will be a comparison between the movie Valkyre, and the real coronel Claus von Stauffenberg. This comparison will tell some of the things that were not really true but people added to the movie for more action. In the movie Valkyre, Coronel Von Stauffenberg was a member of the Nazi Party, but in real life, the coronel Von Stauffenberg was not a member of the Nazi Party although he agreed with some of its nationalistic aspects. Moreover, he remained practicing Catholicism. Also, he disagreed with some things that the Nazis were doing, like killing Jews only because the Nazis didn’t liked them. He thought that Nazi party’s ideologies were repugnant. This made him to try to kill Hitler.

In the movie, people can only see that Von Stauffenberg made only the operation Valkyre. But, in the real life, he made more operations such as the operation Barbarossa. This can be a big difference to people. In real life he made many operations trying to kill Hitler, which means he really wanted to end with the war and he was sure of what he was doing. So he was a good man and he risked his life to end the war. Von Stauffenberg had an accident. While he was in war, he lost his left eye, his right hand, and two of his left hand’s fingers. For rehabilitation, he stood with his family five months. The movie Valkyrie shows that he stood in his house, but only for few days. This can make a big difference of his life, because people are telling different things about him. Claus Von Stauffenberg was a really good man; he risked his life to stop the Nazis from invading Germany and other countries. He lost his eye, his right hand and two of his fingers from his left hand. Although there were not many differences between the movie and Von Stauffenberg in real life, people can see that he really wanted to end with the war and how great he was as a person. He was executed because of trying to kill Hitler. This can tell us that he tried on everything to stop the war.
